SCHOOL COMMITTEE RETREAT
January 3, 2008
The School Committee held a retreat on Thursday, January 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Training Conference Room, Town Hall, Third Floor. Chairman Wynn called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Members Present: Karen Adelman Foster, Anne Blanchard, Dirk Coburn, Stephen Meyler, Dave Murphy, Rick Wynn, Anne LaPlace Zernicke
Members Absent: None
Others Present: Joseph Keefe, Interim Superintendent
Tom Hourihan, Member of the Credentials Screening Committee
DISCUSSION OF SUPERINTENDENT FINALIST INTERVIEW PROCESS
A discussion was held regarding the upcoming interviews of the Superintendent finalists. The group discussed questions to ask and planned an interview structure. The interviews will be structured as follows:
10 Min: The Chair will welcomes and thank the candidate for his/her interest in the position, then quickly~describe to the candidate and the assembly the process of the interview, its length, and its purpose.
~The Chair will then ask each member to introduce him/herself, describing, in a few sentences, tenure on the Committee, community involvement, and vocational role. ~
The Chair will then ask the candidate to encapsulate his/her bio and resume.
50 Min: Questioning by the School Committee
20 Min: Follow-up questions by the School Committee
25 Min: Questions from the administration and/or principals
15 Min: Questions from the candidates to the School Committee
5-? Min: Closing statement
ADJOURNMENT
At 10:25, a motion to adjourn was made by Ms. Karen Adelman Foster, seconded by Ms. Anne Blanchard, and approved unanimously.
