SCHOOL COMMITTEE RETREAT
December 12, 2007
The School Committee held a retreat on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the Training Conference Room, Town Hall, Third Floor. Chairman Wynne called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.

Members Absent: None
Others Present: James Connolly, Superintendent of Schools
Director of Human Resources and Superintendent Credentials Screening Committee member, Marianne Davis
DISCUSSION OF SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH PROCESS
A discussion was held regarding the timing and structure of the process for interviewing the three Superintendent-candidate finalists that the Credentials Screening Committee will recommend.
Announcement of finalists is planned for the December 17th meeting. The School Committee is planning two-hour interviews of the finalists in public meeting at the Morse Institute Library on Saturday, January 5th, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This is to be followed by a full-day visit to our district by each finalist on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of January. Site visits by representatives of the School Committee to finalists’ district will be scheduled, if possible, for the week of January 4th. Final selection is planned for the School Committee’s meeting of January 28th, but could happen before that if necessary and/or possible.
EDUCATION ON THE FINANCIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE PROCESS
Chairman Wynn distributed spreadsheets from the Financial Planning Committee and explained the content of the spreadsheets.

At 9:55 p.m., a motion to adjourn was made by Ms. Karen Adelman Foster, seconded by Ms. Anne Blanchard, and approved unanimously.
