SCHOOL COMMITTEE RETREAT
August 27, 2007
The School Committee held a retreat on Tuesday, August 27, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Staff Training Room, Town Hall. Chairman Wynn called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m.
Members Present: Karen Adelman Foster, Anne Blanchard, Dirk Coburn, Anne LaPlace Zernicke, Stephen Meyler, David Murphy, and Rick Wynn.
Members Absent: None
Others present: James Connolly Superintendent of Schools
Naomi R. Stonberg School Committee Counsel
DISCUSSION OF OPEN MEETING LAW
Discussion was held with Ms. Stonberg about the appropriate use of electronic meeting in order to ensure compliance with the open meeting law. Ms. Stonberg departed after this discussion.
DISCUSSION OF BUDGETING PROCESS
Superintendent Connolly and Anne Blanchard, Chair of the Budget Committee each gave a presentation about how budgeting is done in the school department and about the general structure of the budget. Discussion was held about these topics.
At 10:05 p.m., Mr. Stephen Meyler moved to adjourn. Ms. Karen Adelman Foster seconded. It was unanimously approved.
