SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
June 11, 2007
The School Committee held a meeting on Monday, June 11, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the School Committee Room, Third Floor, Town Hall. Chairman Wynn called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
Members Present: Karen Adelman Foster, Anne Blanchard, Dirk Coburn, Anne LaPlace Zernicke, Stephen Meyler, David Murphy, and Rick Wynn.
Members Absent: None
Others present: Marianne Davis, Director of Human Resources
Jacqueline Roy, JA Roy Associates, Superintendent Search Consultant
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
None.
PUBLIC SPEAK
Chairman Wynn asked if anyone wished to come forward for Public Speak. None did.
DISCUSSION OF THE SUPERINTENDENT SEARCH
The Committee and other participants conducted the rest of the meeting in the Staff Training Room, Third Floor, Town Hall, leaving a prominently-posted sign directing the public to that location.
Ms. Roy reported that she had already met with several groups of teachers to hear their input about the needs of the system. Ms. Roy then led a discussion about how best to run the search for a new Superintendent, possible timelines, ways to include various constituents in the process, the possibility of forming a screening committee, how such a committee might best be structured, and a potential community survey.
At 10:00 p.m., Stephen Meyler moved to adjourn the meeting. Karen Adelman Foster seconded, and it was unanimously approved.
