Call to Order: 4:00 pm
The focus of this meeting was to discuss the proposed 10% budget cut for FY ’09.
Budget cuts have been requested by Town Administration from a number of departments to cover anticipated shortfalls in FY’09.
Ms. Polk presented a number of items on how to make these cuts or reductions from materials, computer maintenance/technology, weekly hours and small staff cuts. Ms. Polk’s recommendations totaled $178,000. The Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve reductions of $164,000 in response. It is the Board’s decision that money for substitutes, when regular staff is out on vacation or ill, can not be cut completely from the budget. The Board of Trustees voted to also close an evening during the week to save on staff funding.
