Board of Trustees’ Meeting

Elliot Goodman and Gerald Mazor
Administration Present: Paula Polk, Library Director
Sal Genovese, Assistant Director
Joan Craig, Community Relations Coordinator
Staff Present: Dell Redington and Karol Bartlett
Call to Order: 4:00 pm
1. The Trustees voted unanimously to not serve Medway patrons based on that library’s losing its certification.
2. Sal Genovese reported on the FY08 library budget. The Trustees had an extended discussion on the budget and the prospective presentation for Town Meeting.
3. Ms. Polk reported on the ACLU suit against the Worcester Library.
4. Ms. Polk reported on all the financial data for the period.
5. Karol Bartlett made a presentation on her work as special librarian for the local history collection.
6. Ms. Craig reported on the Annual Fund, the Gala and upcoming events including Natick Reads. She reported that approximately 400 people enjoyed the Gala evening.
7. Ms. Donovan reported on the presentation to Selectmen regarding the strategic plan. Copies of the plan were mailed to all Town Meeting members and all other Town boards. Work is ongoing with the library staff.
9. April 1st will be the date for the Library’s 10th Anniversary in the new building. The commemorative program will start at 2:00 p.m. that day

The next meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at 4:00 pm in the Community Room.
