A fourth option for changing Natick's health insurance options involves leaving the West Suburban Health Group and joining a different collaborative, such as the Massachusetts Interlocal Insurance Association (MIIA). MIIA has provided health insurance since 1992 and has provided other forms of insurance (e.g. Property & Liability and Worker's Compensation) since the 1980's. This may result in lower rates for the Town and employees, or it may not. The Town has asked its benefits consultant, Cook & Co., to obtain a cost quotation from MIIA and sample rates; a
response from MIIA is expected within a few weeks.
