Mission Statement
To procure supplies, equipment, and services in compliance with state and local requirements at the lowest possible cost, where and when needed, consistent with the quality necessary for the proper operation of the various departments, thereby attaining the maximum value for each public dollar spent;
Maintain the Town’s reputation for fairness and integrity and to promote impartial and equal treatment to all who wish to conduct business with the Town;
Encourage a mutually cooperative relationship with all departments recognizing that successful purchasing is a result of teamwork, planning and effort;
Adhere to standards consistent with the Recycled Product Procurement Policy to purchase reasonably priced Environmentally Preferable Products (EPPs) when available;
Dispose of surplus material to optimize revenues in compliance with state and local requirements;
Promote social and economic goals such as encouraging small, minority and women owned businesses to participate in bidding for Town procurements.
